Perfect for Use in Food Processing Plants
Metal detectable pens are made with a plastic or casing material that contains metal additives. With that additive, if a pen or part of a pen falls into a food line, a metal detector or x-ray machine will sound an alert indicating a contamination.
These pens are used for marking ingredients, packaging, equipment and other surfaces in food processing areas where visible, traceable markings are necessary for traceability and quality control. They also are ideal for use in pharmaceutical and manufacturing plants.
Malloy Supply offers a wide variety of one-piece metal detectable pens with bodies that are constructed with a shatter-proof plastic and that allow for traceable markings – ideal as a food factory pen. They work like regular pens.
These detectable pens adhere to the BRC Global Standard for food safety Issue 8, Section 4.9.6.2 requirement regarding pens used in open product areas (no small parts and shatter-proof bodies), and support HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) food safety management systems. X-ray visibility is another feature.
